The GRE consists of three main sections:

  • Analytical Writing is scored on a scale of 0 to 6 in half-point increments.
  • Scores for each section are reported separately.
  • The GRE is offered at authorized testing centers worldwide.
  • Test dates are available year-round, and you can register for the GRE online or by phone.
You can take the GRE once every 21 days, up to five times within a continuous rolling 12-month period.
GRE scores are valid for five years from the date of the test.
  • Yes, you can cancel or reschedule your GRE test, but fees may apply.
  • To cancel or reschedule, you must do so at least four days before your test date.
