This could be a four-year bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, or a full-time postgraduate diploma from a recognized Indian institution if the bachelor’s degree is less than four years. Applicants need a minimum of three years of relevant full-time professional work experience and demonstrate leadership and community service experience. Applicants should not have another U.S. university degree or be enrolled in a U.S. program. If employed, secure the employer’s endorsement with a commitment to grant leave for the fellowship period.
Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowship: The Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowship Program enhances expertise on climate change by engaging research scholars from India and the United States. It involves scientific and teaching activities related to climate studies, such as co-teaching, guest lectures, and workshops. Grantees collaborate with faculty, develop curriculum, and participate in workshops. The program also promotes global connections, with scholars giving talks, mentoring students, and engaging with the host community. Fellowships last four to nine months.
Eligibility criteria:
Knowing the local language can be helpful for research, but candidates must conduct all teachings in English. The awards welcome applications from professionals and faculty at any academic level and across all disciplines.
Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowships: The Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship allows current Ph.D. students in India to spend six to nine months at a U.S. university. This prestigious award covers a monthly stipend, visa support, and additional benefits.
Eligibility criteria:
To apply for a Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship, you must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program at an Indian institution, have a research background in the relevant subject area, and plan to submit your dissertation at least three months after completing your doctoral placement in the USA. Additionally, you need to meet the following eligibility criteria:
a) Be an Indian national residing in India
b) Demonstrate high academic and professional achievements
c) Possess proficiency in the English language
d) Have the intention to return to India after completing your studies in the USA.
Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarships: Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarships have been championing Indian students since 1976, enabling them to embark on full-time Master’s, MPhil, or Doctoral programs at renowned American, UK, and European institutions. These scholarships generally offer up to USD 100,000, encompassing tuition, living expenses, healthcare, and one-way airfare. Collaborations with esteemed institutions such as Imperial College London, Royal College of Art, University of Cambridge, Sciences Po Paris, King’s College London (for PhD students), and Hertie School Berlin elevate the spectrum of scholarship possibilities.
Eligibility Criteria:
Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarships invite applications from Indian citizens residing in India. Successful candidates typically possess a strong academic record from recognized Indian universities. Individuals with an international undergraduate degree must demonstrate at least two consecutive years of residency, employment, or study in India post-graduation. Those holding a postgraduate qualification from a foreign institution or currently pursuing postgraduate studies abroad are not eligible. Admission to the selected institution and course is a prerequisite for consideration. English language certification is mandatory if specified in the offer letter. Applicants with deferred offers must hold a valid offer for the academic year 2024-25. Those born on or after January 1, 1994, meet the eligibility criteria. Academic performance requirements vary by 65% for Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Fine Arts, and Architecture; and 70% for Mathematics, Sciences, Environment, and related fields.
GREAT Scholarships India: In the 2024-25 academic year, 26 postgraduate scholarships are offered by UK universities for Indian students. These scholarships, each valued at a minimum of £10,000, contribute towards tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course. The funding is a collaboration between the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and participating UK higher education institutions.

a) Applicants must have citizenship and current residency in India, China, Indonesia, Turkey, Malaysia, or Thailand.
b) Applicants should complete an undergraduate degree in their home country (e.g., GREAT Scholarship-India requires a UG degree from an Indian college).
